My Story

I established my private practice to help reach the many individuals who for differing reasons have not been able to receive the time, space and psychological expertise they deserve. At the end of 2023 I made the difficult decision to leave the NHS to be able to fully focus on setting up my practice, whilst maintaining a healthier work life balance for myself and my family. I did so with the mission of furthering my ability to provide evidence based psychological support to individuals in a more flexible, timely and adapted way to better serve their unique circumstances and needs. I hope to build my practice to better address gaps in current mental health provision and overcome obstacles to receiving psychological support. In doing so I am passionate about building connections and pathways of care locally and nationally to ensure individuals are aware of all the support available to them and supported in the process of seeking and accessing the care that best meets their needs, whether this be through the NHS, third sector organisations or privately. Please see my resources section for further information.

My Experience

I have been providing psychological support to individuals experiencing emotional distress and a range of mental health difficulties across NHS, private and third sector organisations for 14 years. This includes over ten years’ working within the NHS supporting individuals with varying levels of need and difficulties across different services (from community mental health teams to inpatient settings). I have also been supporting individuals in private practice since 2020. Across my experiences, I have supported individuals with: - Anxiety (including worry, OCD, generalised anxiety and phobias) - Low mood and depression - Stress and burnout - Low self-esteem - Relationship difficulties - Unusual or confusing experiences (including paranoia, delusional beliefs and hallucinations) - Difficulties managing emotions - Coping with overwhelming or traumatic life experiences. I have developed specialist knowledge, skills and experience in perinatal mental health. This refers to individuals experiencing emotional difficulties during pregnancy, related to their birth, and through to the early stages of adjusting to parenthood. In my most recent NHS post I worked as a Senior Clinical Psychologist within a specialist NHS Perinatal Mental Health Team.
